Honda N-Box Plus: the minivan of kei cars
The N-Box Plus from Honda is a kei car converted into a cargo vehicle, adopting some solutions from various seating and cargo-space configurations.

Honda will begin selling this new kei car in Japan, which brings some improvements to the segment to make cargo capacity easier to use, as well as a new engine. This model is based on a concept that Honda showed last year, aimed exclusively at the Japanese market.
Despite its size, the N-Box Plus from Honda offers a significant amount of cargo space, thanks to a platform that is stored inside the vehicle. The “multi-space” system from Honda also helps add cargo room, with three different interior layouts. The idea is that this small vehicle will be useful for all kinds of commercial customers, even though, strictly speaking, it does not originate as a commercial vehicle.
As for the powertrain, this mini van uses a combination of a DOHC engine with a continuously variable transmission. According to the consumption figures, this vehicle achieves 4.7 L/100 km in urban traffic, partly thanks to Start/Stop. It may sound surprising, but for some models of this kei car, a turbocharged engine or all-wheel drive is available as an option.
Would it be worth bringing some of these kei cars to Spain to boost sales? It’s an open topic for discussion, but I think it would be worthwhile.
