We are following everything that car manufacturers are offering at the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show, and preparations for the next event are already underway. It will take place from 9 to 17 May, and this time it is very close to home. The 2015 Barcelona Motor Show is approaching, and we already have a preview of what will be on show. Honda has been one of the first to showcase its proposals.

One of the vehicles we will find at the Catalan event is the Honda Civic Type R, which, according to the company, will be the most aggressive Type R produced to date. It is powered by a 2.0-litre TURBO VTEC engine producing 310 CV. It is designed for the road, but with a sporty spirit that defines its character. The chassis will incorporate new technologies aimed at improving the driving experience. The model will go on sale next summer, so we won’t have long to wait before seeing it on Spanish roads.

Another of the proposals is the Honda HR-V, an SUV that will also go on sale during the summer season with two engine options. The first will be a 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel engine producing 120 CV, while the other option will be a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine producing 130 CV. Both belong to the Honda Dreams Technology range.

The third generation of the Honda Jazz will be another occupant of the brand’s stand during the Barcelona event. It has been designed to offer a more interesting look, both inside and out, and it is based on the global Honda B-segment platform. Its line-up also incorporates a 1.3-litre i-VTEC petrol engine.

The Honda Civic will also take centre stage thanks to its tuning. It is already on the Spanish market, but the company will use the Barcelona Motor Show to present it to all attendees. The five-door and Tourer versions have been improved in particular, and a Sport version with five doors has been added, which is reminiscent of the R-Type.

Finally, visitors will also be able to take a close look at Honda’s most popular SUV, the CR-V 2015, the fourth generation of this model, which has sold 750,000 units in Europe since its launch in 1994. A notable novelty is a new 1.6-litre four-cylinder i-DTEC diesel engine producing 160 CV, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
