Hyundai Santa Fe 2018: more technology, better design and safety
The new Hyundai Santa Fe 2018 will reach the market next summer and will be presented at the Geneva Motor Show.
The wait for the new Hyundai Santa Fe 2018 to be presented at the Geneva Motor Show is getting shorter. The South Korean brand’s large SUV will arrive with major new features in design, technology, driving assistance and technology. The new Hyundai Santa Fe will compete with powerful rivals such as the new Peugeot 5008 (set to be one of the best-selling cars in its category), the Skoda Kodiaq, the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace or the Nissan X-Trail. Its European market launch will take place this very summer.

Design inspired by the Hyundai Kona
The new Hyundai Santa Fe has undergone a major design overhaul that continues the aesthetic line offered by the Hyundai Kona. The brand’s urban crossover features narrow headlights and a fairly bold front end overall, a quality we also find in the new Santa Fe. The large SUV from Hyundai has grown considerably in length (4.77 metres long) as well as in wheelbase.
The latest from Hyundai in driving aids
The new Hyundai Santa Fe features a wide range of driving aids, and even debuts some assistants never before seen on the South Korean brand. These elements include the lane keeping system with blind spot warning, city emergency braking, frontal collision risk warning and even an assistant that locks the rear doors if a vehicle approaches and a passenger attempts to exit the car (while parked).

The SUV will also include a system that many parents will surely appreciate. We are talking about an assistant that alerts us to the presence of passengers on board when we are about to lock the car. This system will prevent heartbreaking incidents such as a parent forgetting their child in the car.
The technology of the new Hyundai Santa Fe
The Hyundai Santa Fe 2018 will feature a third row of seats which is accessed by pressing a simple button, which configures the cabin space according to our needs; it allows the second row of seats to fold down to maximise space for passengers and cargo. In addition, the boot has a hands-free opening system, which is activated by passing your foot under the rear bumper.

The dashboard has been redesigned and incorporates an attractive digital instrument cluster, with a 7-inch screen. A Head-Up Display will not be missing from the new Hyundai Santa Fe.

Petrol and diesel engines
We still don’t know exactly which engines this model will offer in the European market, but we understand they will not be very different from those offered in South Korea. In the Asian country, the SUV has two diesel engines: a 2.0 e-VGT 186 CV unit and another 2.2 e-VGT 202 CV unit. The petrol engine range consists solely of a 2.0 T GDI turbocharged engine producing 235 CV of power.
