Incredible! Fiat Cinquecento with a Kawasaki Ninja engine reaches 12,000 rpm
This Fiat Cinquecento modified is one of the most unlikely vehicles you will come across… but just look at how fast it goes!
Throughout automotive history, all kinds of unlikely modifications have been created, and this Fiat Cinquecento is no exception. This city car ended production roughly 20 years ago and is the direct predecessor of the current Fiat 500. But what lies under the bonnet of this Fiat Cinquecento has nothing to do with the original model, since it incorporates the engine of a 2012 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R and receives a series of upgrades that turn it into a much more capable vehicle on track. You could say that little more than the bodywork remains of the original Cinquecento.
Astronomical performance: 250 hp and 12,000 rpm
This curious example offers performance far superior to that of the standard car: it produces 250 CV of power and reaches 12,000 rpm, a spectacular figure for a car that weighs just over 1,000 kg and that most supercars on the market cannot even match. In addition, the engine abandons the original layout to now sit just in front of the rear axle (mid-engine layout), a feature very common among the great supercars, since it improves the car’s weight distribution and therefore its driving dynamics; it is the same configuration used by the Audi R8 V10, for example.

Upgraded chassis
In addition, the car features widened wheel arches designed to make room for the new wheels and high-performance tyres fitted to this unit. At the front, there is a modified design, while at the rear, the sporty exhaust is exposed.
Inside, the changes continue with a series of reinforcements and a roll cage, a steering wheel modified by OMP, bucket seats and basic digital instrumentation intended for monitoring lap times on track.
This spectacular Cinquecento is a true arrow on the track, and would probably be a tough rival for many modern sports cars.
