A few months ago, the cruise company Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) announced the launch of one of its most extraordinary ships, the “Norwegian Bliss“. We are talking about a large-sized cruise ship that offers a long list of onboard activities to keep its passengers entertained. Among these amenities, the addition of a go-kart track on the ship’s deck stands out, a circuit in the middle of the sea for speed lovers.

Second Norwegian cruise to offer a go-kart track

This is not the first NCL cruise to offer a go-kart track on board: last year the company inaugurated the Norwegian Joy. However, the layout of the new Norwegian Bliss is up to 40% longer than that of the Norwegian Joy.

Electric karts that reach 50 km/h

The karting circuit is located on deck 19 of the ship and has a fleet of 100% electric karts. According to various sources, the karts can reach a top speed of 48 km/h, while the cost of a race of eight laps around the circuit amounts to $9.95 (€8.75 at the current exchange rate). And no… you won’t be able to end up in the sea with the karts, since there are barriers high enough to prevent that from happening.

“It’s not just different, it’s an activity people are going to love, they’re going to have fun, and that’s also going to be unexpected on a ship. If you create a racetrack on the top deck of a ship, people will stop and look, and we’ve achieved that,” said Andy Stuart, president and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line.

The Norwegian Bliss also has other facilities to keep its passengers entertained. Among them, the water slides and a laser paintball that mimics a space station full of aliens stand out.
