INEOS wants to launch an electric vehicle in 2026: these are the key points

After surprising us with the Grenadier, the British company INEOS wants to venture into building several electric models, which will arrive soon. To whet our appetite, the brand has announced that it is working on a new off-road vehicle that will not have a combustion engine, but will instead be propelled by an electric drivetrain.

The company’s work is aimed at manufacturing an off-road model that does not sacrifice the vehicle’s comfort features or its on-road capabilities. And it will not do this alone, since it has signed an agreement with the company Magna, one of the firms that has become a benchmark in automotive industry supply.

The INEOS Grenadier Station Wagon and Pick-Up models were also designed in collaboration with Magna, so this is not something new; rather, the joint work is being renewed to shape this new model. The project for the third joint production line will be ready to begin production in 2026.

This will take place at Magna’s plant in Graz, Switzerland. The development process for the new INEOS and Magna electric model will include testing on the Austrian mountain of Schöckl, which is close to the Swiss production plant. Thanks to the development of the Grenadier, Magna has been able to take on this challenge. The research carried out by the company to give the current model its off-road capabilities and interior comfort has been vital for this new model to become a reality in a relatively short time.

Magna is a company unknown to the general public, but it is in fact responsible for manufacturing some models for various brands around the world, which do not have the capacity to assemble their own models.
