It is rumoured that BMW is preparing a competition package for the M3 E92

Nothing is certain yet, it’s just speculation, but where there’s smoke there’s fire. As far as we can tell, Bimmerfile speculates that BMW is preparing a new update for the M3 E92. It is a competition package which seems set to continue the saga begun by BMW years ago.
About five years ago, BMW began selling a competition package for the BMW E46 M3. The package included improvements to the wheels and brakes, tyres with more grip, a firmer suspension, a Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) system identical to that fitted to the M3 CSL, and a more sensitive steering that increased the M3’s manoeuvrability, but also made it more demanding to drive.
Now, for the E92 package, what will it consist of? I don’t think that’s a very difficult question to answer, though we can’t be certain either. The features of the package will probably be similar to those created for the E46 at the time.
Bimmerfile speculates that the package will include improvements to the brakes, wheels and an almost complete update of the interior. Besides this, there is also speculation about an update to the exhaust system, which would give it a little more power.
It is very likely that the competition package will take features from the BMW M3 GTS, so it may well be a variant of this model. Either way, it seems we will find out for sure at the next Geneva Motor Show.
