The evolution of the Fiat Grande Punto arrived in Spain, and was presented at the Automotive Intelligence Center, AIC, at the Boroa plant in Amorebieta. The presentation unveiled the new car from Fiat to some 120 motoring journalists.

Focusing on the new product Fiat is presenting, the most notable features are the new engines: 1.4-litre units producing 105 and 135 CV, which feature Multiair technology, improve power, consumption and emissions, and also incorporate the Start-Stop system. By mid-year, the new Multijet diesel engines will arrive. For now, the diesel range will consist of three variants delivering 120 CV. The new Punto Evo catalogue also includes the 70 HP Bi-Fuel version running on natural gas.

In terms of equipment, the Punto Evo debuts the infotainment Blue&Me-TomTom system, which provides information and entertainment and manages, via a touchscreen, the phone, navigation and on-board computer functions.

Starting at 9,900 Euros, the base version of the Punto Evo can be purchased. The mid-range and higher versions will incorporate up to seven airbags, cornering-type front lights, hill-holder (clutch assist on uphill starts), ABS and various stability systems.
