More and more brands specialised in the design and manufacture of electric cars are emerging. The appearance of this type of vehicle and their arrival en masse, expected over the next decade, will make their presence on the market increasingly common. In Poland, the new brand Izera has just been unveiled. It aims to create up to 2,400 jobs and begin selling its vehicles in 2025.

The new company wants to have three new electric vehicles ready in 2025. These will be an SUV, a compact and an estate car. However, these will not be developed in-house; instead, collaborations have been established with two external companies. These will be in charge of designing the vehicles and of the technological means to give them shape.

Pininfarina and Geely join the project

The design studio Pininfarina will take charge of the exterior and interior design of the vehicle. The Italian studio will also handle the design of the information and entertainment system, so we can be sure that the project will have good design and characteristics very well suited to its functions.

The look of the models will be based on the Z100 concepts, which previewed the brand’s SUV, and the T100, which showed the future compact. Pininfarina’s work aims to reinforce the image of the company’s vehicles and adapt them to the platform on which they will be built. The work of both companies aims to make these vehicles efficient and to make their image unmistakable.

As for the technology these models will feature, it will be supplied by Geely. Specifically, all the models will rest on the SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture) platform that the brand has developed for its cars and those of Volvo. It will also be present in vehicles such as the Smart #1, the Lotus Eletre and the Zeekr 001.

This platform allows accommodating large batteries, but no plans have yet been specified for these models. The expectation is that these models will offer a range of around 440 kilometres, but until the design of the models is complete and they are presented, nothing concrete will be known.
