Izera will build electric cars at the end of 2025
The Polish manufacturer has reached an agreement with Geely to become its technology partner.

Izera, the Polish electric car brand, will begin building electric cars based on Geely models starting in 2025. The first Polish electric car will be a compact SUV, but the range will also include a pick-up and a hatchback. The Polish manufacturer has reached an agreement with Geely to become its technology partner.
As some sources have confirmed, ElectroMobility Poland (EMP), the company that owns the Izera brand, will build its first electric vehicle factory in the city of Jaworzno. Construction work will begin in 2024 with an investment of around 1.1 billion euros. The works are scheduled to be completed at the end of 2025, just in time to start production of Izera’s SUV.
Piotr Zeremba, chief executive of EMP, has pointed out that production will depend largely on local suppliers, while the plant will employ 2,400 people. EMP also unveiled the Z100 SUV and T100 hatchback concepts under the Izera brand in 2020, with the initial aim of launching them in 2023. Since the market launch has been delayed until 2026, it is likely that the production models will evolve in terms of exterior design compared with the prototypes presented.
Izera sets off on its adventure
It is important to highlight that all Izera models that reach the market will feature fully electric powertrains and will share many components with Geely. In addition, the Polish brand will use the SEA modular platform, which is also used in Polestar, Smart, Lotus, Zeekr and Volvo.

The truth is that car production in Poland has fallen considerably over the last ten years, dropping from 720,824 units in 2010 to 194,870 units in 2021, according to ACEA. Among the car manufacturers with factories in Poland are Fiat, Abarth, Lancia and Jeep for passenger cars, and Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz and the Stellantis brands for light commercial vehicles.
