Jacky Ickx and his sense of humour come up with this prank with a Porsche Panamera

Porsche has pulled off a little prank with the Panamera and former racing driver Jacky Ickx. Together they set about doing donuts at the entrance of a hotel in Japan.

Imagine you are planning a big prank in which you surprise your victim but, without knowing it, you end up becoming the target of another prank yourselves. This is exactly what happened in Japan, where the guys from Porsche organised a short video in which they intended to give the guests of the hotel where they were staying a pleasant surprise with a Panamera. However, the German brand knew how to turn the tables and play a trick on the pranksters.

The main idea was to surprise every customer who was going to collect their car at the exit of a luxury hotel, but the excitement came when the “valets” – accomplices in the prank – appeared with a dazzling Porsche Panamera 4. However, the German firm wanted to go further and for this they recruited one of the most admired drivers of all time, Jacky Ickx.

The former Belgian driver has an extraordinary career in the world of competition, since he has driven all kinds of vehicles and taken part in countless categories. On this occasion it was Porsche who wanted to sign Jacky Ickx to carry out this prank, in which he pretended to be just another customer collecting his vehicle but, when the impressive Panamera arrives, the situation turns against the pranksters.

Once the disguised driver sees the Panamera approaching, he takes the driver’s seat and unleashes the 330 CV this variant of the German saloon offers. This causes the excitement of the management team in charge of the prank, since, before their eyes, a complete stranger sets about doing donuts with one of the latest creations from Porsche.

Without a doubt, the performance of this Panamera lives up to hands like those of Jacky Ickx, since under the bonnet the saloon hides a 3.0-litre supercharged V6 capable of producing – as we have already mentioned – 330 CV of power and 450 Nm of torque. With these figures, the Panamera 4 can reach 100 km/h in a surprising 5.5 seconds and a top speed of 262 km/h.

Thanks to this tuning, the former driver managed to successfully complete the prank he had planned and make the rest of the team suffer, who later discovered that Mr Ickx is a true professional behind the wheel. Without a doubt, the Porsche Panamera presents itself as an exemplary saloon, which is capable of perfectly combining comfort with supercar performance.
