Jaguar at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show

After a long walk around the whole Geneva Motor Show, we finally reached one of the busiest stands at the fair, the stand where Jaguar has several models on display, although among them vehicles like an E-Type, legendary if ever there was one, and above all the new Jaguar XKR-S really stand out in their own right, a car that wins your heart the moment you see it for the first time.

There is no doubt a lot can be said about the Jaguar E-Type, one of the most beautiful Jaguar ever built although, unfortunately, and I am a great admirer of this car, I have to say that the beauty, elegance, power… of a vehicle like the Jaguar XKR-S can end up eclipsing the Jaguar E-Type.

Now, perhaps the most striking thing about this car, apart from a 5.0-litre V8 engine capable of delivering a whopping 550 CV and 680 Nm of maximum torque, a top speed of 302 km/h or a 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 4.2 seconds, is its price of £97,000, €113,000 at the exchange rate.

Without a doubt, a more than competitive price for a car with these characteristics. If we go into other details, we find features such as electric seats with 16 adjustments, an adaptive dynamic system with reprogramming, or an active exhaust with a sound inspired by racing cars.

Truth be told, there is little more I can tell you about a car as incredible as this Jaguar XKR-S, since anything I say falls short of describing the restraint and elegance of a unique supercar like the one Jaguar has on display in Geneva.
