Jaguar has decided to unveil changes to the XJ saloon, which will offer even greater comfort, especially for passengers in the rear seats. In addition, more interior equipment options are added. Although the engine range will remain unchanged, a new member joins the family, none other than the R version.

Rear passengers will have reclining seats featuring seat cushion and backrest adjustment, as well as three massage programmes. These massage functions will also be available to the front-seat occupants, though expanded to five different massage types.

For those who find the XJ’s sound system Jaguar a little underwhelming and want even better audio quality, Jaguar will incorporate a new 1,300 W audio system made up of no fewer than 26 speakers. Alongside this new sound system, communication between passengers will be improved by an interior microphone system built into the seats.

For the long-wheelbase version of the XJ, two 10.2-inch high-resolution screens will be added to the headrests of the front seats, along with work tables that fold out from the backs of those seats.

The arrival of the R version will bring 550 hp to the XJ range. This turbocharged 5-litre engine is an upgraded version already seen in the XJ Supersport, incorporating the Start/Stop system, sportier suspension and an interior tuned for more performance-oriented use.

Prices for the Jaguar XJ with the new equipment start at €85,440, with the first units reaching dealerships from October onwards.
