Kangoo TPMR, the inclusive mobility solution from Renault Tech

Inclusive mobility is something that must be taken into account when offering a commercial vehicle. Adapting a commercial vehicle so that it is suitable for transporting people with reduced mobility must be considered. Renault Tech is the division of the French brand that handles this type of conversion, offering solutions for people who use wheelchairs.

The Renault division focuses on offering this service to private customers, professionals and large fleet accounts. The group’s latest conversion stars the Renault Kangoo, which, after passing through its hands, has become the Kangoo TPMR. This acronym stands for Transport of People with Reduced Mobility and, thanks to these conversions, it is possible to have a vehicle capable of providing the service while remaining very comfortable, both for the occupants in the seats and for the user with reduced mobility.

Wheelchair access ramp

The Renault Kangoo TPMR features an access ramp that retracts beneath the vehicle. In this way, the interior space is preserved. In addition to avoiding the presence of materials that get in the way and reduce comfort, a source of vibration-induced noise is eliminated.

The floor of the transport area is non-slip and washable. Furthermore, its incline has been reduced from 7º to 4º, which helps keep the wheelchair from moving and keeps it stable. In addition, this gentler slope places the user at the same level as the other passengers, encouraging togetherness on board.

The three passengers in the second row sit in individual seats, as Renault Tech has replaced the bench with these new seats. These seats can be folded, allowing great modularity and they can be configured in many different ways to make travelling in this model very pleasant.
