Kia EV6: the new electric model from the Korean brand is unveiled

After seeing a brief and enigmatic teaser, we can now see the new Kia EV6, the brand’s first electric car, which anticipates the rest of the brand’s EVs.

A few days ago we had the chance to see the first images, enigmatic indeed, of what will be the first electric car from Kia. The Kia EV6 could be seen in shadow, but now we can see its bodywork and interior in full. Details about its features, range and the power offered by its electric motors are still to be revealed.

What we can see is that the bodywork has been designed following the brand’s new design language, called Opposites United, which, according to the brand, brings together the forms of nature with human creations to achieve original and functional shapes and designs.

This design philosophy is based on five pillars: Bold for Nature, Joy for Reason, Power to Progress, Technology for Life and Tension for Serenity. With these guidelines, designers from Korea, Germany and the United States have created the definitive look of the electric model, which you can see in the images.

Among the features we can appreciate are the air intake in a lower position, the door handles integrated into the doors and the windscreen. At the rear we can see continuous lights running down the sides of the tail.

Inside, buttons have been done away with, although a few remain to make it easier to control the systems. Controls have also been incorporated into the steering wheel, so the driver can have everything to hand without being distracted while driving. The curved screen with AVN technology stands out.

In front of the driver is the instrument display with all the information needed for driving. Below the central screen are the climate control buttons, and the remaining controls are located on the central console, giving a clean and efficient look.

The Kia EV6 is based on the E-GMP platform, which is also used by the Hyundai IONIQ 5. This platform can offer a range of up to 500 kilometres and ultra-rapid charging capacity that allows 80% of the battery to be charged in just 18 minutes. As for exactly what the model will offer, we will have to wait a little longer to find out. For now, enjoy the images and videos, which sum up very well what the brand proposes with this model.
