KIA unveils a new image tied to a new era

The South Korean brand’s emblem becomes cleaner, more dynamic and more attractive, while it is associated with an inspiring statement about electrified mobility

The South Korean company has unveiled to the world, in Seoul, the capital of its home country, what is officially now the new KIA logo.

Transforming the three letters into something more than an acronym, heritage, cleanliness, fluidity and dynamism come together in one new emblem that for KIA also ushers in an officially inaugurated new period.

Within the company’s strategic plan called Plan S, Ho Sung Song, President and CEO of KIA, has stated that “The new KIA logo represents the company’s commitment to becoming an icon of change and innovation” and, to welcome this new era, they have put together an audiovisual spectacle in which up to 303 drones took part in the creation and presentation of the new emblem, alongside traditional fireworks.

Movement that inspires

The aim of this change is not only advertising-driven or about synergy with current and future customers of the brand; it also calls on the company’s workers to join this commitment to technological and industrial progress within the new mobility paradigm.

In fact, the unveiling of the new KIA logo, together with the statement accompanying this new era, almost coinciding with the arrival of the new year 2021, shows that this update is not just a marketing move: from this “Movement that inspires” announced by the slogan, the manufacturer is oriented towards and moves closer than ever to electrification across its entire range.

Indeed, at the New KIA Brand Showcase event, to be held on the 15th of this same month, more information is expected on the set of new developments, a vehicle lineup that should be presented, though not as a presentation as such, with new models, whether hybrid or electric, following the recently launched course from the KIA Plan S towards manufacturing both cars and new-generation powertrains within the electromobility of this new decade.

And indeed, in order to strengthen its positioning in the global market, KIA’s strategy from 2021 will involve democratizing electrified powertrains, with the aim of offering cars powered wholly or partly by electric energy at affordable prices.
