Picasso PS-01, a Swiss work of art with an Italian heart
This Swiss supercar is called the Picasso PS-01 and has an almost unbeatable power-to-weight ratio, as it produces 600 CV and weighs 900 kg. Do you want one?

It is called Picasso PS-01, it is manufactured by Picasso Automotive, and they promise it will have 600 CV and a weight of only 900 kg. It will be built in Lugano and will become a supercar Made in Switzerland, something that is not very common in the automotive industry. Now, Stefano Picasso, founder of Picasso Automotive, has in mind to revive the idea of the Swiss car. Picasso himself has described the model as “the craziest carbon car of all time”. This spectacular supercar is built with a carbon fibre structure, but inside it will have a twin-turbo V6 engine of Italian origin.

The carbon bodywork and composite materials were developed from scratch and entirely by the Ticino company, which was founded just over a year ago. Its construction uses a 3.2-metre-long carbon fibre panel, which has earned the title of “the longest ever used in a car”. For its part, the rear subframe is made entirely of carbon fibre and is inspired by the endurance racers that compete in the LMP2.

Picasso PS-01, will it revolutionise the supercar segment?
The first unit of the Picasso PS-01 will soon carry out its first track tests and could reach the market in the spring of this year. The first teaser images of the supercar show the lines of a mid-rear-engined sports coupé designed by Roberto Curtò. The pictures reveal a flowing bodywork with pronounced rear wheel arches and a large carbon fibre rear wing. At the rear there are twin exhaust outlets, an eye-catching diffuser and a large capacity for cooling the engine. The front features an attractive splitter, a large grille and LED light clusters. We have not yet been able to see the interior, but we can say it will have bucket seats and a very low driving position.

Many partners are collaborating on the development of this incredible supercar. For now, the engine supplier cannot be revealed, but it could be Alfa Romeo, Maserati or even Ferrari. Sadev has supplied the gearbox, Sabelt the seats, Carbo Brake the brakes, Öhlins the suspension and 3D Beta the equipment.

The creation of the Picasso PS-01 is backed by international investment, and some say this model combines “Swiss precision, Italian imagination and world-class technology”. We will have to wait a little longer to learn more details about this surprising limited-series car with a record power-to-weight ratio. It is worth noting that the company has already received some orders. Who will these lucky few be?
