Kimi Räikkönen already has a civilian car: a Alfa Romeo Stelvio
Kimi Räikkönen has just unveiled his new everyday vehicle, a Alfa Romeo Stelvio Q4 with 280 CV and 400 Nm of torque.
One of the most frequent questions among Formula 1 fans is what cars the drivers have in their garage. As you well know, being an acclaimed driver in this sector is rewarded with a very high salary, which allows them to have a truly interesting garage. However, on many occasions it is the teams themselves that gift their drivers with road cars, and this has happened with Kimi Räikkönen, who has just debuted a new ride for his everyday driving.
It was a year ago when the Finn signed with Alfa Romeo -formerly Sauber- to win titles and more titles. After Räikkönen had a good season despite the context that has been, and still is, unfolding due to the coronavirus, the Italian brand has decided to present its star driver with a very special gift.
Now, Kimi Räikkönen can head to the circuit and also get around his everyday life in a gleaming Alfa Romeo Stelvio. That’s right, the driver has opted for the SUV from the Italian marque with the aim of not losing a certain sporty essence in his daily driving while still giving up none of the comfort and versatility that a vehicle like the Stelvio offers.

“After this intense 2020 season, it is good to return to everyday life surrounded by my family. However, I do not want to give up the pleasure of driving, and choosing the Stelvio Veloce 2.0 with 280 CV and Alfa Q4 all-wheel drive means I can do so with complete confidence, even in the snow of Finland.”
But no, Räikkönen has not gone for the Quadrifoglio Verde variant of the Stelvio, but for a more modest one. The Finn simply does not need more for his everyday life, which is why he has chosen the intermediate variant which, without reaching the level of the QV, still offers performance more than sufficient for a Formula 1 driver.
It is the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Q4, powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine capable of producing 280 CV and 400 Nm of torque. These figures are managed through an all-wheel drive system and an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, a pairing that allows the Italian SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 in 5.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 230 km/h.

Without a doubt, Kimi Räikkönen is going to keep enjoying himself off the circuit, where he will have one of the most dynamic and sporty SUVs on the market. At the same time, this should be added to its all-wheel drive system, suited to facing the cold and icy Finnish roads, where snow, rain and ice are part of daily life.
