Koenigsegg Saab Electric Cars Concepts Industry
Koenigsegg's plans for Saab?

A week ago we reported that Koenigsegg is negotiating with GM to acquire the Swedish brand, and as expected, the news about their business relationship has started to shed light on future plans.
According to reports, the Quant electric concept presented by Koenigsegg at the Geneva Motor Show will enter production using Saab’s manufacturing capacity.
The Quant is a car with a special feature: it is equipped with solar energy panels that allow the battery not to degrade and to recharge an infinite number of times.
The technology provided by the Swiss company NLV Solar AG opened the door for Saab’s future owner to speculate about the virtues of the electric concept. It is said that it will have a range of 500 km and can be fully recharged in 20 minutes.
But that’s not all, because the engine delivers 512 CV, allowing it to reach a top speed of 275 km/h.
If the performance is impressive, the production plans are no less so, as it is rumored that 150,000 units will be manufactured annually starting in 2011.
On the other hand, Saab users shouldn’t worry, because the plan includes keeping the 9-3, the 9-5 and the 9-4x that is produced in Mexico.
