911 Lamborghini Porsche Supercars
Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera vs Porsche 911 GT2 RS

I deeply envy German and British journalists who work in the motoring world. They always have the privilege of driving the most exciting sports cars on the market, and even of gathering them together and comparing them.
The stars of this comparison are the Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera (570 CV and 1,503 kg) and the Porsche 911 GT2 RS (620 CV and 1,402 kg). The magazine behind the comparison is Autobild Sportcars. The tests carried out include, among others, acceleration, braking and a lap of the Hockenheim circuit. Click on “Continue reading” to see the results.

Let’s start with acceleration from 0-100, 0-200 and 0-300 km/h. The Lamborghini takes 3.4 s, 10.2 s and 28.8 s respectively. For its part, the Porsche’s times are 3.5 s, 9.4 s and 26.7 s respectively. The quarter mile is covered in 11.19 s in the case of the Gallardo and 11.04 s in the case of the 911. Both times are for Germany.
In the braking section the Porsche triumphs again in every measurement. It needs 120.1 metres to come to a complete stop from 200 km/h. The Lamborghini needs 131.6 metres.
Finally, a fast lap of the Hockenheim circuit, where victory again goes to the Porsche with a time of 1:49.50 minutes, against 1:51.00 for the Lamborghini.

The results are clear: the Porsche is faster than the Lamborghini in every case, yet the latter is more fun to drive and wins on the emotional side. An extract of the test can be found on the website of Autobild Sportcars (in German).
