Lancia The Stratos story is being taken slowly, and proof of this is the steady trickle of information with which the Italian brand intends to keep us hooked on this model, which, as you will read below, hides much more than you probably imagined at first.

For example, one of the things they “forgot to mention” is that this model is built on the chassis of a Ferrari F430 Scuderia, a structure that has been shortened by 20 centimetres and whose monocoque has been heavily reinforced thanks to a safety cage in chromoly steel, as the FIA regulations require.

Because of this shortening of the chassis, the engineering team has had a hard job calibrating the suspension geometry, and at the same time new dampers with remote adjustment from the steering wheel have been fitted. On the other hand, as you can see, carbon-ceramic brakes with more bite Brembo pads have been installed, while elements such as the exhaust system and manifolds, created exclusively for the Stratos.

As you can see, the Lancia experiment is looking very promising. For example, on this unit the engineers have decided to replace the electronic differential of the Ferrari with a mechanical one, which is much more exciting, while its control unit has been reworked to allow more aggressive gear changes at intervals of less than 60 milliseconds.

This entire system, apart from offering better sensations at the wheel, has managed to reduce the final weight of the model by no less than 80 kg compared with the original Ferrari F430 Scuderia, which says a lot about the work the engineers on this project are doing.
