Land Rover calls for a recall of the Freelander 2 over fire risk

Land Rover has had a minor problem with the fuel pump on the Discovery 3 and Range Rover Sport, and now it’s the turn of the Freelander 2 Diesel. The issue had already been flagged by the European Union’s consumer protection office.
And now, after the recall of the earlier models, it’s the Freelander 2 diesel’s turn, which was built between 2007 and 2008 and with chassis numbers from H000100 to H111695.
Apparently the fault is caused by condensation from the air conditioning evaporator, which can settle on the auxiliary heater control unit and may cause a short circuit. Most likely the battery will drain, but there is a risk that a fire could break out.
Either way, Land Rover has already taken action, and the owners of these vehicles have already been notified or will be shortly.

Que raro la verdad que una marca como esta tenga este tipo de descuidos, lo que si es bueno rescatar que se dieron cuenta a tiempo y se están haciendo cargos por su error.
