Leapmotor announces the upcoming European launch of its compact B05 model
The B05 from Leapmotor combines a modern, sporty design with the practicality of a five-door C-segment car, one of the most in-demand segments in the European market.
Leapmotor took advantage of the IAA Mobility 2025 show in the German city of Munich to unveil its compact five-door B05 model. This model, which will soon be sold in Europe, will also reach the Chinese market, although there it will be launched under the name Lafa 5.
With dimensions of 4.43 metres in length, 1.88 metres in width and 1.52 metres in height, the B05 positions itself as a C-segment compact five-door model with a sporty focus, aimed at a new generation of urban drivers. Its wheelbase of 2.74 metres is comparable to that of some models based on the MEB platform of Volkswagen -2.77 metres-, which suggests similar interior space.

The B05 is presented as a vehicle that combines innovation and an attractive design, described by the Chinese manufacturer itself as an “bold expression of performance ambition”. Although no specific technical data has been provided, it is speculated that this model will use the LEAP3.5 platform, and it also shares technical similarities with the B10. In this way, it seems quite likely that the B05 will incorporate technologies and customisation options that we will see first on the B10.
The type of vehicle that succeeds in Europe
As far as its appearance is concerned, the designers at Leapmotor have opted for a visual language that the brand defines as “techno-natural aesthetics”. Although it shares some features with the B10, such as the headlight design and the front grille, the B05 has its own personality, with slightly sharper front light clusters and a lower air intake that reinforces its sporty character. The 19-inch wheels and frameless doors contribute to its modern look, while its width of 1.88 metres gives it a robust presence on the road.
The interior promises to be spacious and functional, making the most of the vehicle’s generous dimensions. Leapmotor highlights that the B05 is not just a car, but also “a statement of intent”. In short, this model reflects the brand’s commitment to innovation, accessibility and sustainable mobility.

Although Leapmotor has not yet revealed all of its technical specifications, its presentation at the IAA Mobility in Munich represents an important step in the global expansion strategy of the Chinese manufacturer.
