Lexus GX Overland Concept, the premium off-roader for adventure in Canada
Lexus has unveiled this premium SUV equipped for outdoor adventure in Canada, featuring a sleeping area and off-road equipment

Lexus is a brand known for premium finishes, comfort and elegance, making the adventure of driving something enjoyable. Its engineers have therefore worked to offer Canadian customers an SUV capable of tackling Canada’s vast territories in adventurous fashion, turning a nature getaway into an experience that is comfortable as well as exciting. It was at the Montreal Motor Show that the Japanese manufacturer presented the Lexus GX Overland Concept.
This is a concept model based on the 2020 Lexus CX 460 Executive, whose equipment has been upgraded so it can head out to enjoy the open spaces of Canada without any problems. This version is fitted with off-road wheels and Toyo Open Country tyres. To improve its behaviour, the suspension has also been modified, adding more travel to enhance its off-road capabilities.

Another addition for easy manoeuvring is a front bumper fitted with a winch, which may be useful if extra pulling power is needed to get out of a spot more difficult than the vehicle can handle. The underside of the car is well protected and can withstand considerable punishment, so there is no concern regarding stones or other debris that could be thrown up and cause problems.
And since it is a vehicle built for enjoying the countryside, it comes with a quick-deploy roof tent for sleeping. It also features an awning and an outdoor shower to make the adventure as comfortable as possible. The interior offers the characteristic luxury of Lexus, and occupants can relax, as they will enjoy all the usual comforts of the brand.
A premium Mark & Levinson surround sound system delivers an immersive experience thanks to its 17 speakers, while decorative elements in leather, aluminium and wood create the ideal setting for a luxurious camping night. To take occupants to the perfect spot to rest in the countryside, the Lexus GX Overland Concept features a V8 petrol engine producing 301 CV and a maximum torque of 446 Nm.
This is paired with a 4WD transmission with Active Traction Control (A-TRAC), allowing it to move with freedom. Cutting-edge technology for full driver assistance completes the offer of a vehicle that we do not know will ultimately reach the market, but it makes clear that this model can also be a good ally for rural getaways.
