Lexus surprises at the Goodwood Festival with its electric prototype

Lexus is a brand that always surprises and offers us highly anticipated special models. At the recent Goodwood Festival, held this weekend, it presented a prototype that previews its next offering. The electric car is a preview of what could be an electric model that offers continuity with the brand’s style but with more novelties and an electric powertrain designed to surprise.

This electric supercar will not be ready immediately; instead, it is being prepared for its launch sometime during this decade. The electrification of the brand will be very important over the coming years, although most of these models will be SUVs and crossovers, though the model seen here has nothing to do with them.

An heir to the LFA tradition

This electric supercar is born from the experience gained by the brand’s engineers in developing Lexus LFA. All of that experience has been applied to this supercar, resulting in a first prototype that has been tested on the Goodwood hill.

Even though it was shown at the British event, the brand has not wanted to offer much information about the concept model. This is quite logical, since it is a model in its very early stages. Nevertheless, it has been announced that its 0 to 100 km/h acceleration will be around two seconds, while its range is estimated at around 700 kilometers.

Koji Sato, the brand’s CEO, has announced that this prototype represents a step forward in the development of electric vehicles from Lexus. It represents the future of Lexus, a future that aims to move beyond current limitations and firmly commit to developing electric vehicles.

For now we know no more, but the electric drive of this model, which we are not sure will reach production, will serve to shape new models. These will be more accessible and offer more appealing applications for the brand’s buyers.
