The Toyota Mirai joins the Cabify fleet in Spain

The urban mobility company operating in Spain already has four units of the Toyota Mirai to advance its commitment to sustainable mobility.

The need to improve urban mobility without polluting emissions is driving the taxi and VTC sector towards the incorporation of new sustainable vehicles. In the case of Cabify, the VTC company has just added four first-generation Toyota Mirai units to its urban mobility offer.

The Toyota fleet will operate in Vecttor and will be present in the Cabify Eco category, which is aimed at corporate clients and includes electric, hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles. It will also operate in the segment for private use, so the company will have many customers.

To refuel the hydrogen that serves as fuel for the vehicle, the hydrogen station located at 37 Manoteras Street, Madrid will be used. This is the first hydrogen refuelling station in Spain that allows this fuel to be refuelled at a pressure of 700 bar. The station was built by Scale Gas, a subsidiary of Enagás, which actively participates in the agreement signed by the various companies involved.

With this action, Cabify users in Madrid will be able to have the option of getting around the city with a sustainable choice. The Toyota Mirai uses a hydrogen fuel cell that produces no polluting emissions at all, which helps make the air in the capital, already heavily burdened, easier to breathe.

Cabify’s Sustainable Business Strategy 2022-2025 aims for all vehicles linked to its app in Spain to be hybrid or electric by 2025. The presence of these first Toyota Mirai is one more step towards that goal. In the case of the Latin American market, that target will be pushed back to 2030.

At present, users of this urban mobility platform already have several vehicles of this type and, with the addition of the four Toyota Mirai, the company is firmly moving towards that goal.
