Eletre Lotus Electric Cars SUV
Lotus Eletre: this is the definitive name of the highly anticipated 100% electric SUV from Lotus
Lotus’s new SUV will be presented tomorrow, March 29, leaving behind the Lotus Type 132 name to be called Lotus Eletre

After nearly half a year of receiving details about Lotus’s electric SUV, the new Lotus Eletre, better known as the Lotus Type 132, now has its presentation date set for March 29, positioning itself as one of the most anticipated launches in the Hethel-based brand’s history.
When we think of Lotus, a lightweight, aerodynamic sports car devoid of any comfort systems comes to mind, with the sole aim of delivering the purest possible driving experience. That will certainly have little to do with its new SUV, although according to the brand, the new Eletre will retain its distinctive DNA.
Following the tradition
First of all, the brand has followed the tradition of naming its new SUV starting with the letter E, thus joining great icons of the brand such as the Elan, the Elise, the Evora, the Esprit and the recent Emira, with which it will share the brand’s product lineup.

As we already told you, the new Eletre will be based on the new platform the brand is currently developing specifically for electric vehicles, allowing it to feature batteries of between 90 and 120 kWh and, with them, range figures capable of rivaling its most direct competitors, among which is the Maserati Grecale Folgore that our colleagues at Drivingeco have already told you about.
Thanks to leaked images of its patents, the general styling of the new Lotus Eletre is already fairly well revealed. However, it is one of the most anticipated aspects ahead of its presentation, as it appears to radiate sportiness and elegance combined with a strong technological focus, where we can highlight its rear-view cameras and the LiDAR sensors located on the roof.
With all this, we will have to wait until tomorrow to definitively learn the key details of this SUV, such as its power levels, its unveiled design, and its arrival and prices for the European market.
