The iconic 2009 Formula 1 world champion, Jenson Button, will make a stellar entrance on Friday 18 August when he unveils his custom masterpiece, the Lotus Evija. It is a new pure electric hypercar, an astonishing creation that combines incredible design, inspired by the Monterrey GP, with advanced technology.

What makes Button’s Lotus Evija so exceptional is its personalised approach. Every detail of this car has been meticulously designed under Button’s own direction, in collaboration with the design team at Lotus. The colour palette chosen for this vehicle is a clear tribute to Button’s 2009 Formula 1 World Championship victory with the Brawn GP team. The palette is dominated by a distinctive colour, Arctic White, accented with touches of Verve Yellow and Carbon Black. In addition, the number 22, which commemorates Jenson’s race number during his dream season of 2009, is elegantly incorporated into the housing of the foldable mirror and is reflected in the door interior trim.

One of the most impressive features highlighting the attention to detail of Lotus is the aluminium strip in the centre of the seat, which has been laser engraved. This strip immortalises each one of Jenson’s 15 race wins in F1, from the 2006 to 2012 seasons, including the six wins that propelled him to the 2009 Championship.

As for the interior, Jenson’s cabin is characterised by black and white perforated leather seats, with a roof and steering wheel trimmed in ebony Alcantara. Contrasting lime-yellow stitching adds a personalised and distinctive touch. This same colour is repeated in details such as the pedals, the rotating centre console, the start/stop button and the air vent frames, creating a sense of coherence and flawless design.

The Verve Yellow brake calipers sit inside gloss black alloy wheels with matt magnesium accents. A particularly striking detail is the centre-lock wheel nut, inspired by motorsport and finished in anodised silver.

Over 2,000 CV of power

A highlight of the event was the unveiling of the Evija’s updated power output. Although all versions of this pure electric hypercar are identical in terms of powertrain and performance, Button’s Lotus Evija now unleashes an incredible 1,500 kW / 2,039 CV, surpassing the 2,000 CV this hypercar was initially set to offer.

Equipped with a 93 kWh battery, it achieves 0 to 100 km/h in under three seconds. Its 0 to 300 km/h acceleration in just 9.1 seconds is undeniable proof of its exceptional performance. With an electronically limited top speed of 350 km/h, the Evija is ready to dominate both track and road. Its range reaches 346 kilometres on the WLTP combined cycle, and with the capacity of its 350 kW charger, it can be recharged in just 18 minutes. With a §h49;weight of 1,887 kg and overall dimensions of 4,459 mm in length, 2,000 mm in width and 1,122 mm in height.
