Air Lucid Sedans Electric Cars
Lucid Air shows us its retractable screen and the capabilities of the Lucid Ux, its infotainment system
The electric model arriving soon features a large curved screen split into three segments and a second retractable one for all the controls.

The Lucid Air continues on its way to production and little by little is showing us more of what it will offer in this electric model. One of the most intense experiences this car will offer, already quite striking in itself, is its information and entertainment system. They call it Lucid User Experience or Lucid UX and it is quite peculiar.
On one hand, we know it has a 34-inch curved screen with 5K resolution called Glass Cockpit. It is divided into three different spaces, each dedicated to a different aspect. On the left side of the screen are the controls for the lights, the windscreen wipers and the rear window defroster.

These controls are close to the driver and allow easy, practical access to operate all these elements simply. The central section is dedicated to the digital instrumentation, with all the important information for the driver. Speed, charge status, range and other data are presented in an orderly and practical way. In addition, when the driving assistance systems integrated in DreamDrive are engaged, a three-dimensional image of the car and the other vehicles moving around it is shown.
The third section of the screen handles the information and entertainment systems and navigation. There are not many details about it, but it is known that it will include Alexa, Amazon’s voice recognition system, and connectivity with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
A retractable screen
In addition, users of the Lucid Air will be able to use a screen to control the climate system and the seat functions. Menus can be moved from the Glass Cockpit to this screen, to keep them at hand if needed. But what stands out is that this screen can retract and hide under the dashboard. When retracted, the user finds a storage space.
The screens use design patterns that blend with the color of the cabin interior, so they are very attractive and do not stand out from the overall design. The Lucid UX system supports over-the-air updates, and there is also an app for the smartphone that lets you check the charge status, interior temperature and other features offered by the Lucid Air.
