Lynk & Co 08: a plug-in hybrid SUV that exceeds 540 CV and 240 kilometres of range
With its expected arrival in the coming 2024, the new Lynk & Co 08 will become one of the most interesting hybrid SUVs on the market thanks to its extraordinary figures
Following the latest teaser released by the Geely group brand just over a month ago, Lynk & Co had not yet published the official details of its popular 08, a mid-size SUV with a very modern and attractive design, plug-in hybrid technology and an electric range that will make it one of the kings of its segment when it arrives next year.
Built on the CMA platform, the same one used by its sibling, the Volvo XC60, the new Lynk & Co 08 offers dimensions slightly larger than those of the Lynk & Co 01 that we can currently see on the streets, which, among other things, will allow it to house a nickel, cobalt and manganese battery of 39.6 kWh, a figure more typical of a fully electric vehicle than of a plug-in hybrid.
With that large capacity, the new Lynk & Co 08 will be equipped with a turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol engine and two electric motors, and will be capable of delivering a combined output of 544 CV and no less than 900 Nm of torque, in addition to a maximum all-electric range of 245 kilometres (according to the CLTC cycle). That said, it is advisable to wait until the WLTP-certified figure is known in order to have a number closer to real-world conditions.

Details still to be confirmed
As for its arrival on the streets, the first units of the 08 will land in China later this year. However, it will not be until 2024 that this SUV becomes available to the European market.
For the time being, its price is another unknown of this new launch, so we will have to wait to learn more official information on the matter, such as how the model’s range will be structured or whether more engine options with smaller batteries will be available.
