Madrid's Municipal Police acquires two Renault Megane RS
Madrid’s Municipal Police has recently acquired two units of the Renault Megane RS, one of the fastest sports compacts on the market. Powered by a 2.0 Turbo engine producing 265 CV, these vehicles are prepared for patrol and escort duties.

The Police of the Spanish capital has presented the latest acquisitions for the city’s police fleet.
Among MPVs and motorcycles, two units of a brand that, while generalist, stands out for its sporty compact models.
The Madrid Police has decided to buy two units of the Renault Megane RS, one of the fastest and most entertaining compacts to drive. This acquisition may not be on par with other security forces such as the one in the city of Dubai, but the lucky officers tasked with driving them are sure not to get bored in their duties.
Obviously, these cars are not intended for transporting detainees since they only have two doors, but they will certainly find their place in activities such as highway surveillance or escorting official vehicles.

However, they do have a certain level of preparation, typical of any vehicle intended for use within a security force. In this case, the Megane RS have been upgraded with Kevlar doors, a radio system and visual warning systems.
Let’s remember that the Renault Megane RS is currently one of the most powerful and high-performance compacts available on the market. Powered by a 2.0 Turbo engine producing 265 CV, it is capable of reaching 100 km/h from a standstill in 6.0 seconds, exceeding 250 km/h top speed.

Currently, its rivals are models of the caliber of the Golf GTI, the Ford Focus ST, or the Seat León Cupra. With the latter, it maintains a fierce “battle” for the Nürburgring throne among front-wheel-drive vehicles. Both models are very fast, capable of dipping below 8 minutes in a lap of the Ring, a figure that until very recently was reserved only for high-performance sports cars.
