Manhart MH7 400d, the new hit from the tuner on a BMW Series 7

Manhart never fails to surprise us with its conversions and personalisations, and this BMW Series 7 is a fine example of the craftsmanship this company is known for.

Manhart’s transformations are always a pleasure to discover. Every time they get their hands on one of the BMW models, we get lost in the details and the care put into each car they work on. The BMW Series 7 is set to get a new generation, but before saying goodbye, it wanted to present this version, based on the BMW 740d xDrive, the diesel variant.

This version is powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbo six-cylinder in-line diesel engine. The tuner has adjusted it to deliver 400 CV of power and 790 Nm of peak torque, figures above those of the base model. To achieve this, the ECU has been replaced and Manhart’s Turbo Performance kit has been fitted.

Given that the base model offers 315 CV of power and 680 Nm of peak torque, this will certainly catch the attention of fans of powerful cars. All of this torque is sent to all four wheels through an automatic gearbox, also modified, and a standard xDrive system. Out of the box, there are no changes to the brakes or exhaust, although Manhart can also work on them if the customer wishes.

The model shown in the images accompanying this article is a current-generation BMW Series 7, G11, but prior to the cosmetic facelift introduced in 2019. However, if you like it, the same package can be fitted to the version currently on the market.

Carbon fibre additions

Manhart has added several carbon fibre elements, such as the front splitter and the rear spoiler. The Manhart livery can optionally be chosen. The gold accents and Manhart logos replace those of BMW, giving the whole ensemble a different character.

The wheels have been replaced with the model used by the tuner, 22-inch Manhart Venturi alloy wheels. Mixed-size tyres are fitted, 265/30 R22 at the front and 295/25 R22 at the rear. The suspension has been lowered by between 20 and 30 millimetres to achieve a lower centre of gravity.

The interior remains as in the standard version, but being a Manhart, the buyer can be sure they can choose the upholstery option they prefer. Even so, it is very appealing and does not need much more to be interesting.

Prices of the personalisation elements

The individual elements of this transformation determine the price of the conversion. For example, speaking of Germany, changing the wheels and tyres costs 4,890 euros, while adding the front carbon fibre spoiler costs 3,295 euros and opting for the rear diffuser adds 3,845 euros. If you want the Manhart graphics, add 1,099 euros, and to include all the engine upgrades, add 6,999 euros to the package. That way, you will have it fully converted into the car you see in the photos.
