Over the years, Martini and Porsche became the winning combination most envied by the rest of the sponsors and racing teams. The drinks brand’s colours covered the bodywork of the Stuttgart firm’s competition models, until Porsche temporarily disappeared from competition.

Today, Porsche will offer its customers the option of fitting Martini vinyls to the future 918 Spyder. In addition to this new collaboration between the two companies, Martini, in honour of its 150th anniversary, will field a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup on 12 May in Barcelona. The racing supercar will compete in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and will be driven by the nine-time World Rally Champion, Frenchman Sebastian Loeb.

Loeb will compete in the first two races, while a second driver, whose identity is still unknown, will take the wheel of the 911 GT3 Cup in a third race to be held in September.

According to Jonas Krauss, director of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, “From the very first day, Martini Racing’s livery has been linked to the Porsche 906 of 1968. This illustrious pairing went on to win some of the most coveted titles in motorsport, including numerous victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, during what is now considered the most famous period of this race. We are very excited to partner once again with Martini for its 150th anniversary.”
