Marussia B1 spotted in Monaco

Yesterday we told you about the GTA Spano, and now it’s time to talk about another practically unknown sports car: the Marussia B1. If a car brand already has a Formula 1 team, however obscure it may be, there is no doubt that it moves up to a higher category, where it gains added value in terms of media exposure.

Either the owner of this Marussia B1 is a wealthy Russian who has moved to Monaco, or the brand is already taking advantage of the media momentum of Formula 1. What is certain is that this attractive two-tone B1 (like almost all the B1 models seen so far) cruises the streets of Monaco, and it is not the first time it has been immortalised on video.

The Marussia B1 may not be the most-watched sports car in the world, but it has enough spectacle to attract attention, even without knowing the make of the car we are looking at. That said, we will not find V12, V10 or even V8 engines here. The B1 uses a V6 in two versions: one is a 3.5-litre, while the other is a 2.8 from Cosworth. Power figures are around 400 horsepower, depending on the engine chosen. However, the Marussia B1 does not suffer at all from using a V6, thanks to a very modest weight of 1,100 kilos.

It is certainly no match in performance terms and cannot be compared with a McLaren MP4-12C. But for around 130,000 euros it seems to be an interesting option for this type of vehicle.
