Maserati at the Goodwood Festival of Speed

At this event, which welcomes the arrival of summer every year, the Italian brand wants to present its two most spectacular cars, along with others from its range

Maserati GranCabrio Sport MY18 - tre quarti anteriore

It was only a few days ago that we had the chance to see the Maserati GranTurismo for the first time at the New York Stock Exchange. The Italian luxury brand is taking this model to show it to attendees of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, held these days in England, as every year, to welcome the summer. At the event, not only will this spectacular model be on display, but Maserati has also chosen this event to present the GranCabrio MY18.

At the brand’s stand, two units of the GranTurismo MC will be on view: one in “Rosso Magma“, with an interior trimmed in a combination of black leather and Alcantara, while the other, “Grigio Lava“, comes with “Rosso Corallo” upholstery. The GranCabrio Sport on display will have a “Blu Assoluto” body with “Bianco Preigato” upholstery.

These impressive cars will share the space with an equally striking Quattroporte equipped with a diesel engine in “Blu Passione“. There will also be a Ghibli, likewise with a diesel engine and a “Rosso Energia” body, and a Levante in “Grigio Maratea“. Another Levante S, this one with right-hand drive, will be present in the “First Glance” paddock.

Besides the cars, Maserati has wanted to bring some of the glamour felt when driving a GranTurismo, thanks to collaborations with several design companies. Bulgari, for example, has created a luxury watch called the “GranTurismo owner’s watch“, which will be handed to everyone who buys one of these spectacular cars at the event.

Visitors will also be able to see some of the brand’s legendary GranTurismo models, which will be part of the exhibition honouring the model. The A6 1500, the original GranTurismo presented at the Geneva Salon in 1947. This model used a 1.5-litre, six-cylinder inline engine producing 65 CV. There will also be a 3500 GT, which already reached 265 CV from a 3.5-litre engine, and a Ghibli SS 1970, together with a more recent version, the 3200GT of 1998, equipped with a 3.2-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 370 CV.

The Maserati GranTurismo and the GranCoupé MY18 will take part in the Supercar Run. This 1.16-mile circuit is the centrepiece of the festival, and both vehicles will lap it several times during the celebration.
