Matthias Mueller confirms at least two new Porsche for 2018

The CEO of Porsche, Matthias Mueller, has confirmed at least four new models that would be available in Stuttgart’s lineup in 2018. This includes the Macan and the 918 Spyder as the most certain to appear, while others remain on hold.

Although the mentioned models are quite well known after having been discussed many times and are no longer much of a novelty, there are some details to note: the model between the 911 and the 918 is still not approved by the brand’s board and apparently is not to Mueller’s particular liking. According to the CEO, the decision on this model would be made at the end of 2013, although the platform that will serve as its base is already approved for the upcoming Audi R8 and Lamborghini Gallardo.

As for the Pajun, nothing is yet certain according to Mueller, since it would only be a “possibility”, so he has not been able to give further details about the mini-Panamera. What has been confirmed is the arrival of more Panamera variants such as the coupé version and a wagon version; of the latter we had the opportunity to see the concept at the Paris Motor Show.

Regarding other models, Mueller has again stated that the Porsche 551 project has been definitively cancelled, since the brand’s image would surely be diluted; Porsche owners would not be willing to have their sports cars sold alongside the so-called baby Porsche.
