Mercedes-Benz welcomes the new Professional Line trim for the G-Class, coming from G Manufaktur, the customisation programme for the G-Class

The Munich Show brought us some very interesting proposals and presentations, such as those we saw in the space reserved for Mercedes-Benz, where the Germans, among other things, unveiled the EQG. The Mercedes-Benz EQG is the prototype for the fully electric version of the current G-Class, a vehicle that has managed very well to remain in the Mercedes range and that, as it could not be otherwise, will also end up becoming a fully electric model.

But while the EQG is not yet a reality, the Mercedes G-Class will continue to be an object of desire for many, a model that for several years now has embodied much of the quality and luxury that a premium brand like Mercedes gives to its vehicles and that, now, will also be able to carry a tougher look, closer to its origins as a purer off-roader, all thanks to the new Professional Line trim.

Mercedes provides more details on the exterior of the G-Class Professional Line, where we can see that it will undoubtedly attract attention wherever it goes. The colour chosen for its bodywork is “Copper Orange magno“, which will feature a striking contrast with the elements painted in “Night Black magno“, applied to the front and rear bumpers as well as the sill covers, the protective grilles around the headlights, the wheel arches, the roof and the bracket holding the spare wheel mounted on the tailgate.

The modifications of the G-Class Professional Line do not end there, as we must not forget the 18-inch alloy wheels with a five-spoke design painted in “Matte Black“, plus the rear ladder that gives access to the roof rack, where, in addition to carrying practically any object, it can also be used to mount a tent . All of this can be enhanced further with the “Night” package, which applies “Matte Black” paint to the mirror housings and the brand badges.

Mercedes does not provide images of the interior of the G-Class Professional Line, but it does state that the upholstery will be black leather, with black wood inlays, darkened rear windows and ambient lighting with 64 colours. For greater personalisation, the Standard, Exclusive Line and Superior Line trim environments will also be offered, bringing together the most popular equipment choices for the G-Class, although, logically, customers will also be able to add their own personal touch with the various customisation options.

Mechanically, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class Professional Line will house under its bonnet the 4,000 cc twin-turbo V8 engine, delivering 422 CV of power and paired with the 9G-Tronic nine-speed automatic gearbox, which sends power to all four wheels thanks to 4MATIC full-time all-wheel drive.
