Mercedes-Benz Opens Electric Truck Charging Station in Germany
Located in Germany, the station will offer the ability to charge the batteries of up to six trucks at the same time, with different charging powers.

Electric vehicles are becoming more and more common, so let’s look at how the infrastructure for charging the batteries of these vehicles is appearing in cities and on roads. But these vehicles are not just cars; you can also find commercial vans and even trucks. It is precisely the latter that present the most problems when it comes to charging their batteries.
They need more power, since they must be larger. And that’s not all. Trucks need much more space to park, so it is necessary to create charging points that allow charging at facilities outside their usual base. Mercedes-Benz has just opened a charging station for electric trucks near its facilities in Wörth, where its own electric trucks are manufactured.

The charging station has been installed in collaboration with the company Netze BW and will allow any electric truck, regardless of brand, to be charged without problems. The proximity of the Mercedes-Benz factory, where the eActros and eEconic models are manufactured, will allow potential buyers of these models to check their features and the possibilities they offer.
The installation has six chargers from different brands. This will allow testing each of the chargers and checking how they work and which one offers the best performance in day-to-day use. The charging power of these charging points ranges from 40 to 300 kW, so there is a good variety for charging according to each user’s convenience.
In the near future, Mercedes-Benz will add a charger compatible with the MCS system, which will offer a charging power of one megawatt, so batteries that support it will be able to charge in very little time.
In addition, the Mercedes-Benz electric truck service station has a solar panel installation, which is backed by a battery, so the energy transferred to the trucks’ batteries is entirely sustainable. With the opening of this service station, access to charging service is available to any electric truck, regardless of its brand. If the trial is a success, we will not be long in finding more of these charging stations across Europe.
