Mercedes Class S 500 Plug-in Hybrid, price of the model that uses only three litres
In mid-October the new plug-in hybrid from Mercedes, the Class S 500 Plug-in Hybrid, will reach dealerships across Europe, with fuel consumption figures of just 2.8 litres per 100 kilometres on the combined cycle and CO2 emissions of 65 g/km

The search for the best balance between fuel consumption, pollutant emissions and performance is something carmakers are taking into account more and more. So it is no surprise that the first plug-in hybrid from Mercedes, the Class S 500 Plug-in Hybrid, is about to arrive.
This version of the S-Class offers figures that, until not long ago, seemed far removed from a high-end saloon. With 2.8 litres per 100 kilometres on the combined cycle and emissions of just 65 g/km, it is a truly impressive car, both in terms of efficiency and equipment.
The electric motor fitted to the Mercedes Class S 500 Plug-in Hybrid produces 85 CV and is capable of covering up to 33 kilometres in pure electric mode, at speeds of up to 140 km/h. The combustion engine is a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 producing 333 CV. Working together, both motors deliver 442 CV and a maximum torque of 650 Nm.
The car has four driving modes, which the driver can select to achieve maximum efficiency at any given moment. The first uses only the electric motor, while the second brings both units into play. The third mode keeps the electric motor in reserve, and the fourth and last prioritises recharging the battery.
As for charging times, the battery can be recharged at home using a standard socket in just four hours. If a Wallbox fast-charging installation is used, the time does not exceed three hours.
Among this model’s distinctive features is the ability to schedule the climate control, so that it switches on a few minutes before you use the car and you find the right temperature when you get in.
It will only be available with the long-wheelbase bodywork and will reach dealerships in mid-October, at a price of 112,200 euros.
