Mercedes GLA: this is what we expect from its update
The entry-level SUV from Mercedes is being updated, with small changes to its exterior and interior and several electrified powertrains that bring new features.

The Mercedes GLA, the entry-level SUV in the German manufacturer’s range, has received an update that improves performance and modernises its exterior and interior looks. It has also benefited from an update to the range and power of the electric drive system.
These changes reach the front, with a new grille that reproduces the design we have already seen on other compact models from the brand. The dynamic character of the model is reinforced with the inclusion of decorative slats on the bonnet, which give it a more aggressive look. In addition, the lower part of the bumper features larger air intakes and other elements that enhance the front styling.

The new lighting units with Full-LED technology offer high performance. They provide a more distinctive light signature that gives this new version of the model a very personal look. Another aspect worth noting is the wheels, which also give the vehicle a very attractive appearance. These are between 17 and 20 inches in size, depending on the version chosen.

MERCEDES GLA
A large range of body colours is available, and a new colour has been added to choose from. This is Spectral Blue, which joins the existing options. At the rear we find a redesigned bumper, which houses an oval-shaped twin exhaust that adds personality to the rear end. As for the lighting group, it is also made up of LED technology.
Inside, technology has also been given attention, with more equipment included. Connectivity has been improved, as has the sound system. The renewed Mercedes GLA now includes the Burmester audio system with Dolby System. The steering wheel has horizontal spokes, which have also been fitted to other models from the brand. It also features a heated rim so that you can stay more comfortable in winter.
The screens are seven inches, but there is an option that allows these screens to be fitted at a size of 10.25 inches. The control of the MBUX system, which manages the information and entertainment system, has also been updated and is much simpler, with better usability.
Engines
The new Mercedes GLA comes with a petrol engine accompanied by 48-volt mild hybridisation, delivering up to 10 kW of additional power. The GLA 250 e stands out, offering a plug-in hybrid engine of 163 CV, which is paired with an electric motor producing 90 kW, equivalent to 109 CV, and a maximum torque of 300 Nm.
Overall, it delivers 218 CV and 450 Nm, with a battery of 11.5 kWh. With this setup, a range of 70 kilometres is achieved. The battery can be charged at 3.5 kW to 11 kW on alternating current and at up to 22 kW on direct current.
The prices for this update to the Mercedes GLA have not yet been published, although bookings are expected to open in a few weeks, so we will not have to wait long to learn them.
