Mercedes S-Class Coupé: Mercedes-Benz's elegant coupé

The Mercedes S-Class never ceases to surprise us. It is an elegant, luxurious car that promises wonderful driving sensations from the moment you get behind the wheel, and its striking presence elevates the status of whoever drives it. Now, the S-Class expands the family with the launch of the Mercedes S-Class Coupé, a two-door model that takes the best of the range and brings it to a new level.

The Mercedes S 500 Coupé will be available at European dealerships in the coming months, and it will be equipped with a 4,663 cc twin-turbo V8 engine producing 455 CV and a maximum torque of 700 Nm, making it a car to take seriously well beyond its elegant and understated looks.

The coupé will feature all the equipment found in the saloon version. A large number of “Intelligent Drive” systems make driving easier and enhance the driving experience. Among other things, it includes PRE-SAFE brake with pedestrian detection, DISTRONIC PLUS, which uses intelligent steering assistance, and the Stop&Go Pilot.

Other features include the BAS PLUS emergency brake assist, complemented by other systems that increase safety while driving. It will also use COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST PLUS, which responds to persistent hazards by reducing speed if the driver does not react in time. At speeds below 40 km/h, rear-end collisions can be avoided.

As for the vehicle’s occupants, the Mercedes S-Class Coupé enhances the saloon’s PRE-SAFE system with new functions. Specifically, it can detect the danger of a rear collision and activate the emergency brake and seat belt pretensioners to mitigate the effects of the impact.

It will be offered in several trim levels, with improved interior comfort and infotainment functionality. The Mercedes S 500 4MATIC Coupé will start at 151,500 euros, while the Mercedes S 500 4MATIC Coupé Serie 1 will reach 169,360 euros. Later on, the Mercedes S 63 AMG 4MATIC, starting at 203,300 euros.
