The MG5 Electric becomes one of the most sustainable cars for just €25,000
The world’s first electric estate car earns Green NCAP’s top rating and takes the LCA award for its reduced environmental impact

The MG5 Electric has reached the top of the Green NCAP rankings, earning five stars and an outstanding score of 95%. This model, which had already made history as the first electric family car, continues its legacy as a sustainability leader by winning the coveted LCA award for its low impact across its entire life cycle.
Green NCAP, the independent European emissions assessment programme and a leader in the sector, has singled out the MG5 Electric as a benchmark in the era of clean and energy-efficient vehicles. By receiving the top rating, the MG5 Electric ranks among the five best models assessed in 2023, cementing its place at the forefront of the green revolution in the automotive industry.
In the tests carried out by Green NCAP, the MG5 Electric achieved the highest score in the fundamental criteria of clean air, energy efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions. With an overall score of 95%, this electric model demonstrates its excellence in every aspect, such as the extraordinary charging efficiency of the MG5 Electric, which reaches an impressive 92%, or the vehicle’s light weight, which helps reduce total consumption and saves costs for the consumer.

The LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) rating awarded to the MG5 Electric allows drivers to assess the environmental impact of the vehicle across its full life cycle. Pedro García, Vice President of MG for Spain and Portugal, expressed his pride in the recognition, stating: “We are delighted to see our efforts to electrify our model range being endorsed by an independent and renowned body such as Green NCAP. This not only validates our commitment to sustainability, but also highlights the MG5 as the ideal choice for families seeking mobility with the lowest environmental impact.”
