Mini Remastered Marshall Edition, the new limited edition by David Brown Automotive
David Brown Automotive presents a new limited edition of its MINI Remastered, with just 60 units for the whole world, in collaboration with Marshall

Just as 2021 was about to end, David Brown Automotive unveiled the first unit built of its MINI Remastered Oselli Edition, a restomod that brought the classic MINI back to the present day, keeping its characteristic styling but housing current technology inside. David Brown Automotive is once again back in action with a new limited edition, this time the Marshall Edition.
No matter how little of a music fan you are, the Marshall name should sound familiar, as you will have seen it countless times on stages around the world wherever an electric guitar is found. Marshall is a renowned and acclaimed English brand of amplifiers for electric guitars, highly valued among musicians, and it is currently celebrating its sixtieth anniversary, so what better way to mark it than by partnering with David Brown Automotive to create something original with a very English flavour.

This is how the MINI Remastered Marshall Edition was born, an exclusive limited edition of which only 60 units will be built for the whole world. Its exterior will look like one of the brand’s amplifiers on wheels: for the bodywork the exclusive Marshall Black colour has been chosen, while the contrast comes from Marshall Gold, a golden shade characteristic of the English brand, present on elements such as the front grille, whose design is similar to that found on Marshall amplifiers.

Marshall Gold will not be the only place it appears, as a fine line has been hand-painted along the roof and the sides, running along the lower part and accompanied by the Marshall logo. It is also present on the outer edge of the 12-inch “Classic” wheels, which also feature the Marshall “M” in their centre, again in Marshall Gold. Finally, this colour is also used as the enamel for the hand-made badges found throughout the vehicle.

Inside the MINI Remastered Marshall Edition we find practically the same colour scheme as on the exterior, with seats upholstered in black leather and contrast stitching in Marshall Gold, as well as the brand’s logo embroidered on the backrests. This golden tone also colours the door trim and the dashboard, other stitching such as the leather cover of the gear lever, and the trim of the Pioneer infotainment system, which is designed to look like a Marshall amplifier, thanks in part to its buttons. Not forgetting the pedals either, although in my opinion it is not a very good idea to have anodised them in Marshall Gold, since the colour will last no time at all against footwear.

But wait, because the crown jewel of this MINI Remastered Marshall Edition comes from some small surprises hidden inside that will delight any lover of music and rock. Its sound system is, as it could not be otherwise, signed by Marshall and features 8 speakers that deliver surround sound, along with the new wireless headphones Motif A.N.C, also signed by Marshall and with their own compartment in the glovebox so they can be kept safe, and finally, in the boot there is a valve amplifier Marshall DSL1 Combo with its own power supply, together with a Bluetooth speaker Marshall Emberton.

In the mechanical section the MINI Remastered Marshall Edition boasts good components, such as the suspension signed by Bilstein or the AP Racing braking system, with four-piston front calipers painted in Marshall Gold. Its engine is a 1,330 cc unit producing 83 CV, mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.

David Brown Automotive has not disclosed the price of the MINI Remastered Marshall Edition, but given that the MINI Remastered Oselli Edition exceeded 100,000 euros, this new limited edition will certainly not be cheap. What the brand has confirmed is that it will make a donation for each car sold to the NGO Music Venue Trust, which supports live independent music in the United Kingdom.
