Mini updates its range to comply with the new emissions standard
All combustion engines Mini will be reviewed by the brand to comply with emissions regulations this summer.
Mini takes the emissions regulations imposed by the Euro 6d TEMP Emission Standard very seriously and, to prove it, will review all its combustion models and make the necessary modifications ahead of this summer of 2018. Some examples of these modifications, such as the Mini Clubman, with variations to its combustion engine, or the Mini Countryman, improving its efficiency with an optional 7-speed Steptronic dual-clutch transmission.

Mini will add several new features in different areas for its models in summer 2018, not only to comply with emissions regulations, but also to improve the technology of its models, the driving feel, promoting driving enjoyment, and connectivity.

An emissions control system will be included in all variants of its combustion models, Mini 3-door, Mini 5-door, Mini convertible, as well as the Mini Clubman and Countryman, will include a particulate filter by July 2018. The Clubman and Countryman models will be enhanced with an improvement to their petrol engine. As an alternative to the manual gearbox, these models may opt for a 7-speed Steptronic transmission.
With these changes, Mini will comply with the regulations imposed by Euro 6d, which demonstrates its interest in and support for them. Its diesel models of the Mini Countryman and Clubman have been complying with emissions regulations since March 2018.
The 7-speed Steptronic transmission
Quick shifts and a high level of efficiency are the defining properties of the 7-speed Steptronic dual-clutch transmission, which make this option that Mini offers for its most successful compact models a perfect fit. The use of a dual clutch when changing gears helps the engine deliver a sportier acceleration without interruptions in torque. Furthermore, let us not forget the clear advantages in terms of comfort thanks to an automatic transmission. From July 2018, this new transmission will be available alongside an improvement to the petrol engines for the Mini Countryman and Clubman.

Improved sound and seamless connectivity in the Mini Clubman
The new connectivity package will be available on the Mini Clubman from July 2018. It will include very significant improvements in navigation, communication and sound, perfectly combined with excellent control software and functionality. The main components of this package are: Connected Navigation with an 8.8-inch screen, Mini Touch controller, real-time automatic traffic information and the option to update navigation via mobile phone. This package includes preparation for Apple CarPlay, Mini Connected XL and an option for wireless charging for mobile phones.
An automatic light control system will also be included for the Countryman and Clubman models.

As we can see, Mini is preparing major updates, both to care for the environment by complying with emissions regulations and to improve its models and make them more complete in various areas.
