This DeLorean DMC-12 has not travelled through time, but it has been frozen in it for 32 long years
A father and his son have decided to rescue this DeLorean DMC-12, which had been standing still for 32 years. Both of them will carry out the long restoration work.

Surely countless models have become your objects of worship after seeing them debut on the big screen in films such as Fast & Furious, 60 Seconds or Transformers. However, when we talk about films related to the world of motoring, we must not forget the iconic Back to the Future saga, where Marty McFly and Doc travel into the future in a DeLorean that the eccentric scientist turns into a time machine. Thanks to this film, the American sports car gained great fame, but today we bring you the particular case of a unit that has remained stuck in time until now.
When we read news about abandoned sports cars or classic vehicles, our hardened petrolhead heart breaks into a thousand pieces, but today we bring you a story with a happy ending. The protagonist we are concerned with today is, as the title indicates, a DeLorean DMC-12, which has not seen the light of day for 32 years. This is because it was left abandoned in a barn for unknown reasons, put two heroes of the motoring world have decided to put an end to its suffering and bring it back to life.
A father and his son decided to go to the rescue of this abandoned DeLorean and put an end to its desolate existence. Thanks to the determination of both motoring enthusiasts, sooner or later the sports car will shine again and roll along the North American asphalt. However, the condition this unit is in is not favourable and, although they have already managed to start it, they still have a hard job ahead of them.

Nick Pelant and his father have made this video of the moment they picked up the DeLorean, in the manner of a documentary, with the aim of showing the world the laborious task of resurrecting a car. Let us remember that the DMC-12 was the only model manufactured by DeLorean, a company that had its factory established in Northern Ireland, although its main market was the American one.
However, the short life of the American company, which was active for only one year, forced production of the DeLorean DMC-12 to be really limited. With approximately 9,000 units built, the DMC-12 has become one of the most sought-after and iconic vehicles of all time, something also attributed to this abandoned unit that will return to the asphalt sooner or later. Despite this, the low production of the DeLorean is not the only thing that makes it special.
One of the most outstanding aspects of this spectacular model is its gullwing doors and, at the same time, its exposed stainless steel bodywork. These features make the DMC-12 a truly exclusive model and further enhance its sporting character, which is complemented by its engine. Under the bonnet of the American sports car is a V6 developed jointly by Peugeot, Renault and Volvo. This powerplant was capable of producing 130 CV of power and 208 Nm of torque.

Without a doubt, the DeLorean DMC-12 will be one of those vehicles we always remember, since its iconic design and personality make it unique. At the same time, the unit featured in the video will regain its life and we are sure that, over time, it will reach an incalculable value, thus making the DMC-12 one of the most charismatic and cherished models of all time.
