Ahead of its official presentation on 28 October, Mitsubishi has released the first official images of the new generation of its popular SUV

The presentation of the fourth generation of the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV 2022 is practically just around the corner. Specifically, next Thursday 28 October will be the day of the world debut of this Japanese bestseller at a streamed event, where we will be able to see all the news about the new hybrid SUV arriving in 2022 live.

After almost ten years with the third and successful generation of the Outlander on our roads, the Japanese brand has decided to renew the model, giving it a much refreshed and attractive look in line with the Eclipse Cross and improving its technology.

Its new features

At the front, the new Mitsubishi Outlander features two very sharp light units at the top of its bumper, which act as daytime running lights. Below these, we find two large, roughly circular headlights that are responsible for lighting the way.

On either side of its grille are two chrome moldings in the shape of a “C” that enhance the modern and dynamic image of the new SUV. Finally, on the lower part of its bumper we notice an aluminum-colored insert that gives it a certain rugged touch.

From the side view, its floating roof, very defined lines and new 20-inch wheels define the character of the new model. As a good SUV, its wheel arches feature black moldings that visually raise the whole and emphasize its muscle and capabilities.

At the rear, the new horizontal taillights with a sharp design, its subtle spoiler and its bumper with pronounced features complete the image of the new Outlander.

More technological and with plenty of space

Leaving the exterior aside, the new Outlander has a cabin that exudes a technological, attractive atmosphere with good finishes. Its black upholstered seats with orange stitching, orange moldings and armrests, and its fully digital infotainment system and instrument cluster are responsible for this.

In addition, Mitsubishi has confirmed that both the petrol and the plug-in hybrid versions will have the option of a third row of seats, allowing up to seven occupants inside.

For now, we only know that this fourth generation of the SUV will arrive in the Japanese market in mid-December and later in 2022 in the United States, so we will have to wait to find out whether this new model will reach Europe and, if so, when it will arrive.
