Mossos d'Escuadra choose SEAT

Vehicles assigned to the state and regional law enforcement and security forces are one of the most important elements of their equipment. They must be reliable, but they must also consume little and be able to hold up when needed. That is why, when choosing a brand to join these fleets, a good model must be put forward, capable and efficient.
The Mossos d’Escuadra, the regional police force of Catalonia, has received the first 50 units of the new vehicles that will join its fleet. These are several units of the Seat Altea XL 1.6 TDI CR and Altea Freetrack 2.0 TDI CR, which form part of a batch of 394 units that will be gradually incorporated into the Catalan police vehicle fleet.
The Seat Altea XL 1.6 delivers 105 CV, and the Altea Freetrack 2.0 TDI offers 140 CV. Both are prepared to fulfil the role assigned to them, with a complete kit that includes equipment to accommodate detainees and all the means to serve as a police car.
Some of these police elements have been designed exclusively for these two models by the SEAT Technical Centre in Martorell. These 50 units join those delivered during last year, 2014. In September, the vehicles delivered totalled 326, and the total number of SEAT cars to be delivered before the end of 2015 is 720 units.
The Spanish brand is working to be the chosen vehicle for the various state and regional law enforcement bodies to supply new units to their fleets. The presence of the Spanish brand’s models is not new to the Catalan police force, since since its founding it has used several thousand units of several SEAT models as the main part of its vehicle fleet.
