Myli by Ligier: the quadricycle for younger drivers, now with the I.DEAL and R.EBEL trims

Light quadricycle brand Ligier launches two new trims with up to 192 km of range, set to excite younger drivers

The microcar company Ligier, which has been producing light quadricycles since the 1980s, merged with Microcar in 2008 to launch one of the most revolutionary light quadricycles on the market, the Myli by Ligier. It is the first quadricycle developed by the French brand with a fully electric motor, aimed at all those young people who do not yet hold a B driving licence.

We had the opportunity to travel to Seville to get behind the wheel of the Myli microcars at the wonderful Real Club Pineda. At first glance it has a fairly attractive design, especially in the sportier R.EBEL version. Inside, the touchscreen and the dashboard are quite simple and intuitive, something that is missed in the I.DEAL trim. In addition, the R.EBEL version includes heated sports seats that offer greater comfort for passengers.

For a light quadricycle that cannot exceed 45 km/h, the batteries it carries give the vehicle acceleration that stands out for its segment. The brake discs did their job perfectly, allowing smooth braking and greater control of the vehicle. Handling on the move is quite good, and both versions can include power steering, which in a vehicle of this kind is appreciated. However, when you switch on the air conditioning, since it is a cycle-based system, the vibration of the vehicle and the steering wheel increased significantly.

The new Myli is a good option for young people who are 15 years old and willing to obtain the moped licence. Many parents choose this option for their children instead of buying them a two-wheeled vehicle, in which safety is reduced. The brand itself has stated that it is the electric car without a licence with the greatest range on the market, offering up to 192 km of range in its R.EBEL trim. Its main competitors, such as the Citroen My Ami Buggy and the Opel Rocks, offer 75 and 120 km of range respectively.

This Ligier vehicle stands out in the quadricycle market for its modern design, its equipment and the performance it offers, with all the needs of the population group it is aimed at in mind. When discussing the vehicle’s characteristics, it is important to bear in mind that we are talking about a light quadricycle, not a car, so for the segment it competes in, it offers good characteristics.

The brand offers up to four trims available on the new Myli model: the G.OOD, the I.DEAL, the E.PIC and the R.EBEL, the first being the one with the fewest extras and the last the one with the most. In principle, only the I.DEAL and R.EBEL trims with a sportier look are sold in Spain. This is due to the demand the brand has seen from its customers, but they offer the option to configure the Myli to your taste, choosing personalisation packs such as the R.EBEL X Design Kit or different accessory packs. In any case, the boot has a capacity of more than 400 litres.

I.DEAL trim

This is one of the simplest trims the brand offers for those who do not want to spend as much on the version with all the extras. It comes in a range of three colours, with a choice of Glacier White, Intense Black or Toledo Metal Red.

In this model, you can choose between two different battery packs and a 230V charging cable. The first version has a STANDARD battery of 4.14 kWh, offering a range of 63 km; however, the EXTENDED version has 8.28 kWh and up to 123 km of range. All models have ECO mode, which reduces acceleration but increases range.

In terms of design, it has power steering and 14” black aluminium alloy wheels, a glovebox with a lock, and a bumper, grille and bonnet specific to a welcoming design. In this version you will find a Pioneer radio with Bluetooth and an integrated sound system with two speakers. It also has semi-leather seats in both seats.

R.EBEL trim

This is the sportiest trim the brand offers, with a choice of several extras that make this quadricycle a desirable option for young people from 15 years old onwards. This version offers a much wider range of colours, with a choice of Pearl Metal White, Intense Black, Asphalt Grey, Toledo Metal Red, Reef Metal Blue and the new option, Velvet Metal Green.

Here we find two battery packs, with the choice of the EXTENDED 8.28 kWh and 123 km range or the HIGH PERFORMANCE version with a 12.42 kWh battery and a range of up to 192 km.

Its design stands out for details such as the bumper spoilers front and rear in body colour, the 15” VEGA aluminium alloy wheels in black that it fits, a 10” touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto access, and heated seats.

Better safety on a quadricycle

Ligier has put a great deal of care into the safety of its customers. Firstly, it is the only light quadricycle that fits front and rear disc brakes for greater efficiency.

Secondly, these vehicles have been awarded for their dynamic behaviour and driving performance, beyond the norm, thanks to the hard work carried out by the brand’s engineers.

They also feature exclusive power steering, which provides additional control of the vehicle with dynamic behaviour and prevents drifting.

Finally, it includes LED daytime running lights with automatic activation to improve driver visibility, and a heated windscreen.

Seguridad

These models are now available at a price of €15,690 in the I.DEAL trim, or the Myli R.EBEL version at a modest price of €21,690.
