Nanoflowcell's electric cars will be ready for the 2016 Geneva Motor Show

The company Nanoflowcell will present a concept car powered by a battery that allows it to reach a range of almost 1,000 kilometres without emitting polluting gases, while offering enough power to enjoy the experience of driving it over long journeys

At the various motor shows there is a great variety of products from brands all over the world. Most are very well-known cars, but there are also brands seeking their place in the market with novel projects. One of these brands is Nanoflowcell, which has already presented several models powered by flow batteries, although all of them are still in the development phase.

The QUANTiNO will become a reality at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show and will feature this type of propulsion, which began to be developed several years ago and which, the company claims, dramatically increases the range of electric cars. To do so, they rely on incorporating into the batteries a compound derived from seawater, which helps the electricity move more easily through the battery.

The range offered by these ‘luxury batteries’ is put at more than 1,000 kilometres, according to the company

With this technology, the range of this 2+2-seater coupé can reach 1,000 km, with a top speed of 200 km/h. This speed is achieved thanks to its four motors, one installed on each wheel, which gives it independent four-wheel drive. These motors produce a total power output of 108 CV. This is somewhat lower than the figure offered by the previous version of this same model, mainly due to the adjustment of the electric motors so that they work better.

The figures for this model, especially regarding range, are very appealing, but it remains to be verified that it truly has these capabilities. Tests are under way and will be completed in mid-2016. It will also undergo assessment by an independent company to check the figures offered by the manufacturer, so by the time it arrives at the Swiss show there will be full confirmation of all of this.

With the ability to offer a very pleasant driving experience, with no emission of polluting gases and considerable power, Nanoflowcell will make many people take notice of this model. An improved version of it could soon reach production, alongside other similar and more powerful car developments the company is carrying out.
