New Peugeot 208 Roland Garros
New Peugeot 208 Roland Garros
Peugeot has been associating its name with the tennis tournament held in Paris for many years. The “Grand Slam” played on clay, Roland Garros, has already been linked to other models of the French brand as commemorative special editions. The first versions were available in the green characteristic of Roland Garros, but little by little they have evolved towards black and white adorned with exclusive details in clay-court colour.
The new Peugeot 208 Roland Garros incorporates exclusive design elements inspired by the colour of the clay courts. It stands out from the rest of the 208 range through elements such as the wing mirrors with indicators in “clay” colour, the same colour that appears in the Peugeot lettering on the front and also on the tailgate. The tournament logo adorns the sides and the rear.
Details such as the Equalizer grille with chrome edging, similar to that of the Peugeot 208 GT Line, give it a more sporty character. This limited series is available in two colours: Pearl White nacré and Perla Nera Black. The rear windows are tinted.
Inside, tones reminiscent of clay are also used. They appear in details such as the seat belts and the seat stitching, which are also decorated with the tournament emblem, or on the gear lever gaiter, which also features a new knob.
The Roland Garros logo is screen-printed on the steering wheel, trimmed in Napa leather. The Peugeot 208 Roland Garros also features aluminium pedals, white LEDs around the instrument cluster and a panoramic roof with manual sunblind. In terms of equipment, it includes items such as the Mirror Screen touchscreen, with Wi-Fi Pack and Trituner radio, or the rear-view camera with obstacle detection.
This special series is combined with the five-door body and can be paired with the 1.2-litre PureTech 110 CV petrol engines and 1.6-litre BlueHDi 100 CV diesel engines. The new Peugeot 208 Roland Garros is available from €17,160.
